Tooth Sensitivity and Related Issues

Tooth sensitivity may be caused by sensitive dentin, and the possibility of pulpitis and dental caries cannot be ruled out. When dentin is damaged, it may lead to increased sensitivity. Eating acidic or spicy foods can irritate the teeth, potentially causing them to feel sore or painful. Pulpitis and dental caries can also cause exposure of the dental nerve, leading to recurrent tooth pain, accompanied by soreness and inflammatory lesions in the oral cavity.

For individuals with sensitive dentin, applying fluoride can be an improvement method. A fluoride compound is applied to the teeth to protect them and reduce sensitivity. If symptoms of pulpitis or dental caries are present, root canal treatment can be used to remove necrotic tissue from the teeth and perform nerve ablation to prevent recurrent tooth pain. After treatment, it is important to maintain oral hygiene, develop good habits of brushing teeth in the morning and evening and rinsing the mouth after meals, and try to avoid spicy foods.
