Correction Methods for Eye Astigmatism
Astigmatism can be corrected through general treatment, wearing frame glasses or corneal contact lenses. If the condition is severe, surgical intervention is necessary.
I. General Treatment
1.
Eye Care: Cultivate good eye habits in daily life, avoiding prolonged exposure to electronic devices to prevent astigmatism from worsening. Ensure adequate sleep and avoid staying up late, as chronic lack of sleep can lead to eye fatigue, exacerbating astigmatism symptoms.
2.
Dietary Adjustments: Consume foods rich in Vitamin A, such as carrots and pumpkins, to supplement essential nutrients and alleviate symptoms to some extent.
II. Wearing Frame Glasses or Corneal Contact Lenses
Mild astigmatism that does not significantly impact daily life and work typically requires no special treatment. However, for severe astigmatism that significantly disrupts daily activities, prompt consultation with an ophthalmologist and the use of frame glasses or corneal contact lenses is recommended.
III. Surgical Treatment
Individuals with moderate to high astigmatism may opt for laser surgery, including Excimer Laser Assisted Subepithelial Keratectomy (LASEK) and Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK), which can significantly improve vision. It is advised to use eyes reasonably in daily life, avoiding prolonged close reading or watching TV to prevent blurred vision. Furthermore, incorporating fresh fruits and vegetables like apples, bananas, and spinach into the diet can aid in nutritional supplementation and facilitate recovery.
