How Should I Use Azithromycin Enteric-coated Tablets?

Azithromycin Enteric-coated Tablets are nitrogen-containing macrolide antibiotics. Food intake can affect the absorption of azithromycin, so it is recommended to take it orally one hour before meals or two hours after meals. Additionally, as enteric-coated tablets, they should be swallowed whole and should not be broken or chewed. Azithromycin Enteric-coated Tablets generally have good tolerability and a low incidence of adverse reactions, most of which are mild to moderate and reversible. Common adverse reactions include gastrointestinal reactions such as diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, loose stools, vomiting, and skin reactions such as rash and itching. Precautions should be taken during the use of this medication.

Precautions for Azithromycin Enteric-coated Tablets:

1. Control dosage: Although patients with mild renal insufficiency do not need to adjust the dosage of azithromycin Enteric-coated Tablets, patients with severe renal insufficiency should avoid using them.

2. Be alert for pseudomembranous colitis: If diarrhea occurs during the treatment with azithromycin Enteric-coated Tablets, be alert for the development of pseudomembranous colitis and take appropriate measures for treatment promptly after diagnosis.

3. Stop medication in case of allergic reactions: If any abnormal allergic reactions are observed during medication, such as skin reactions, toxic epidermal necrolysis, and angioedema, the medication should be stopped immediately for treatment.
