Solid Breast Nodules
If solid breast nodules are caused by physiological factors, they may decrease in size. If they are caused by pathological factors, they may not decrease in size and require treatment under medical guidance. The detailed analysis is as follows:
1. May Decrease in Size: The presence of solid breast nodules may be due to changes in hormone levels during puberty or menstruation. This is usually a normal physiological phenomenon. As puberty ends and menstrual cycles normalize, hormone levels will return to normal, and solid breast nodules may decrease in size or even disappear. Generally, no treatment is required, but attention should be paid to the care of the breast area.
2. May Not Decrease in Size: If a patient has conditions such as lobular hyperplasia or breast fibroadenoma, which have stimulated the breast area, accompanied by symptoms such as breast lumps and breast pain, the nodules will generally not decrease in size and may even increase. Patients need to seek prompt medical attention and may undergo treatments such as minimally invasive rotational excision or simple mastectomy to improve symptoms. It is recommended to wear supportive underwear to reduce stimulation to the breast area and alleviate pain symptoms. If solid breast nodules show a tendency to increase in size, medical attention should be sought promptly.
