Can Tongue Herpes Heal on Its Own?
Tongue herpes can be caused by conditions such as oral ulcers, self-healing (though not in this context), glossitis, thrush, etc., and it cannot heal by itself. It requires medical treatment. Here are some causes:
1. Oral Ulcers: Dietary factors or weakened immunity can induce oral ulcers, leading to congestion and edema of mucous membranes such as lips and tongue. Some may present with blisters and pain, while some may heal spontaneously within a week with a good prognosis.
2. Glossitis: Local irritation or deficiency of trace elements may induce glossitis, which not only causes tongue pain but also changes in tongue papillae, with local herpes and lines. It may not heal spontaneously and may require medication under a doctor's guidance, such as Metronidazole Capsules or Cefaclor Dispersible Tablets.
3. Thrush: It is an infectious disease caused by overproliferation of Candida albicans in the oropharynx, leading to white patches on the tongue surface or oropharynx. Some may have a non-erasable membrane on the tongue, which usually does not heal spontaneously. It requires medical treatment, such as Nystatin Tablets or Fluconazole Capsules.
It can also be caused by conditions such as hand, foot, and mouth disease. If it has affected normal eating, it is recommended to seek medical attention as soon as possible.
