Why Does Bleeding Occur 21 Days After Transplantation?
Nowadays, many couples who have difficulty conceiving choose in vitro fertilization, as the technology has become mature and has a relatively high success rate. Some women may experience certain symptoms after in vitro fertilization, which may indicate whether the transplantation was successful. Bleeding 21 days after embryo transfer requires observation of the amount of bleeding. If it is minimal, it may be due to needle-site bleeding or normal secretions. However, if bleeding is heavier, it may indicate transplantation failure or other causes, and it is recommended to seek medical attention promptly for examination.
1. Needle-site bleeding during egg retrieval may occur without abdominal pain, and generally, the bleeding will not be excessive, with a small amount of bloody discharge. In this case, there is no need for excessive concern, and observation can continue, but it is recommended to communicate promptly with the attending doctor.
2. If bleeding begins 21 days after IVF transplantation and is similar to menstrual bleeding, it can be considered as a sign of transplantation failure.
3. If bleeding is heavier and persists for a longer duration, it is advisable to visit the hospital to determine the source of bleeding. If necessary, a B-ultrasound examination can be performed to check for intrauterine bleeding.
1. Avoid vigorous activities after transplantation and rest as much as possible. However, absolute bed rest is not necessary. Whether a patient can return to work depends on their physical condition and the nature of their job. Short and relaxed outdoor activities can be performed daily.
2. Reduce physical activity, avoid strenuous exercise, bending, and abdominal strain. Maintain a good mood, relax, and avoid emotional stress. Bathing is prohibited within 1 week, but showering is permissible. Avoid greasy and spicy food, crab, and leek to prevent diarrhea. Consume plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, and water.
3. Perform a urine test on the 14th day after transplantation. Most patients will not have any special sensations, but some individuals with a large number of eggs may experience abdominal distension, nausea, stomach pain, difficulty breathing, or coughing. If symptoms are severe, return to the hospital for evaluation.
4. Avoid sexual intercourse within one month after IVF transplantation. Sexual activity should only be considered after confirmation of pregnancy. This is because the embryo is unstable for a few days after IVF transplantation, and sexual activity can affect embryo implantation, potentially leading to habitual abortion and threatened abortion. Additionally, if there is inflammation in the reproductive organs, it can affect the success rate of IVF.
