How to Alleviate Stomach Pain?

1. Stomach patients should avoid smoking, alcohol, coffee, strong tea, carbonated beverages (soda), spicy, and sour foods, which are the most harmful to the stomach. The spleen and stomach prefer warmth; thus, cold drinks and ice cream must also be avoided. Eating warm food is a challenge for anyone, especially during hot summer days.

2. Drink two beverages regularly: milk and hot water. Milk can form a protective film in the stomach. It's best to drink a glass of milk every morning after waking up. Drink plenty of water, especially hot water, as dehydration is often mistaken for hunger.

3. Individuals with stomach conditions should refrain from exercising after meals. It's best to rest until the food in the stomach is nearly digested before starting work or engaging in light walks, which also aids digestion. In summary, working immediately after meals is not advisable.

4. In non-acute cases, medication is not recommended due to potential long-term side effects. Stomach problems are chronic and cannot be cured in the short term. If necessary, consider consulting a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, as TCM prescriptions are particularly effective in nourishing the stomach.
