"Do Many People Share a Common Phobia?"
When watching horror movies, we are often frightened by some terrifying scenes, so some people are very排斥 of horror movies because they have a feeling of fear towards certain things in their hearts. I don't know if you've heard of demonophobia, which is actually a relatively common phobia and belongs to a more severe type of phobia. Demonophobia refers to the fear of demons actually appearing, resulting in a psychological state of fear. Demons do not exist in real life, but some people, due to watching too many horror movies or hearing too many ghost stories, may find themselves immersed in the state of horror movies or their imaginations, thereby generating fear. The objects of fear for demonophobics are not real-life entities but rather imaginary ghosts, which makes it a more severe type of phobia. Some children enjoy listening to ghost stories from adults and watching horror movies since childhood, and over time, they genuinely believe that ghosts are real. When they are in dark or desolate places at night, they will unconsciously associate the scenes from horror movies, causing fear. Some children may even have trouble sleeping or often have nightmares, afraid to sleep alone at night or venture out alone. In severe cases, patients may experience convulsions and hallucinations even during the day. Treatments for demonophobia include medication, hypnotherapy, mirror techniques, relaxation and meditation training, and systematic desensitization. Generally speaking, as people grow older and gain more understanding of the world, their fear of demons will gradually diminish. However, there are exceptions, so those suffering from demonophobia should seek treatment to avoid affecting their normal daily lives. From the above introduction, it is not difficult to find that this type of disorder mostly occurs in children. As you grow older and become more mentally mature, such problems may be better resolved. Of course, if the problem persists, it is recommended to seek treatment at a relevant hospital.
