What Causes Hip Pain?

Hip pain can be caused by prolonged sitting, lumbar muscle strain, lumbar disc herniation, and other factors.

1. Prolonged Sitting: If you often sit for extended periods in your daily life, you may experience pain due to prolonged compression of hip tissues. Generally, no special treatment is required, and the pain will gradually ease after appropriate activity. Usually, you need to avoid maintaining the same posture for a long time.

2. Lumbar Muscle Strain: Lumbar muscle strain may be caused by improper treatment of acute lumbar sprain or long-term overexertion. Due to the accumulation of local lactic acid, pain or swelling pain may occur. If not treated promptly, it may even lead to radiating hip pain. Treatment involves using drugs such as Fluoribiprofen Gel Patch, Xiaoyanxin巴布膏 (anti-inflammatory巴布膏), and Loxoprofen Sodium Gel Patch as prescribed by the doctor.

3. Lumbar Disc Herniation: Lumbar disc herniation is related to lumbar degenerative changes and chronic strain. Patients may experience low back pain. If local nerve roots are compressed, it can also cause pain in the hips, thighs, calves, and other areas, as well as numbness and limited mobility in the lower limbs. Medications such as Ibuprofen Sustained-Release Capsules, Paracetamol Tablets, and Diclofenac Sodium Sustained-Release Tablets can be taken as recommended by the doctor.

Besides the above reasons, hip pain may also be caused by lumbar spondylolisthesis. Patients need to rest and can also appropriately massage their hips.
