Rhinitis Medications and Antibiotic Use
Rhinitis medications do not necessarily contain antibiotics, and their composition often depends on the type of rhinitis. It is recommended that patients choose medications under the guidance of their physicians.
1. Allergic Rhinitis: This occurs when an allergic reaction triggers the release of immune mediators mediated by specific antibodies, leading to non-infectious chronic inflammation in the nasal cavity. 2. Chronic Rhinitis: Usually develops from acute rhinitis, characterized by intermittent and alternating nasal congestion, decreased sense of smell, among other symptoms. For chronic simple hypertrophic rhinitis, Triamcinolone Acetonide Nasal Spray and Mometasone Furoate Nasal Spray can be used. In the case of chronic hypertrophic rhinitis, Furazolidone Nasal Drops and Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride Nasal Spray are options for treatment.
3. Dry Rhinitis: Caused by dryness of the nasal mucosa, which increases the fragility of the mucosa and capillaries, leading to nasal bleeding. Compound Menthol Oil Nasal Drops or Erythromycin Ointment can be used for treatment, and these medications do not contain antibiotics.
4. Atrophic Rhinitis: A chronic nasal obstruction caused by gland atrophy and reduced secretion. Warm saline irrigation or Compound Cod Liver Oil Nasal Drops can be used for treatment, and these treatments do not contain antibiotics.
Patients should use rhinitis medications under the guidance of their physicians and avoid self-medication to prevent delays in treatment.
