What are the symptoms of menopause syndrome? How long does menopause syndrome last?
As women age, they enter a state of confusion and helplessness, which is commonly known as menopause. Menopause syndrome generally refers to perimenopausal syndrome, which manifests in distinct symptoms related to menstruation, blood vessels, and mental state. Specifically, menopause syndrome has the following three symptoms:
1. Menstrual changes: As women enter perimenopause, there may be a decrease in sex hormone secretion, leading to changes in menstruation. The main manifestations are irregular menstrual cycles, shortened menstrual periods, decreased menstrual blood volume, or prolonged menstrual cycles and menstrual periods with increased menstrual blood volume.
2. Vasomotor symptoms: When patients experience abnormal vasomotor symptoms, they may manifest as hot flushes, facial skin redness, sweating, headache, palpitations, and reduced sleep quality.
3. Psychoneurological symptoms: Before entering menopause, patients may also experience abnormal functions of the psychoneurological system, resulting in symptoms such as irritability, anxiety, depression, inattention, inferiority, and memory impairment. How long does menopause syndrome last? Menopause syndrome typically lasts for 1 to 2 years, and may even last for 5 to 10 years, depending on the individual's condition. For people with less severe menopause syndrome, no special treatment is generally required, and the symptoms will gradually disappear after a few months. However, if the symptoms are severe and not effectively controlled, they may persist for longer, up to more than 5 years, and may even affect normal work and life. In such cases, it is necessary to consult a doctor and take medication to regulate and improve the condition.
