What Causes Blood in Urine Sometimes?
Blood in urine may be caused by urinary tract infection, requiring a timely urine routine test at the hospital and anti-infective treatment under the guidance of doctors. Generally, it can recover quickly. Blood in urine may also be caused by urological diseases, which needs to be confirmed after examination. In daily life, attention should be paid to diet and local hygiene. After treatment, regular follow-up examinations are necessary.
1. If there is blood in the urine or bleeding from the urethra accompanied by frequent urination, urgency, and pain, it may be acute urinary tract infection. Further urine routine tests and symptomatic treatment are needed.
2. If white blood cells and urine occult blood are positive in the urine routine test, antibiotic treatment should be given as soon as possible. A small amount of white blood cells or urine occult blood positive can be treated with oral cephalosporin antibiotics or nitrofurantoin tablets.
3. If the urinary tract infection is severe, further intravenous antibiotic treatment is needed. Drinking plenty of water can flush away the inflammation in the urethra and reduce local pain. Further renal function tests are also needed to avoid acute pyelonephritis caused by retrograde infection.
4. During the treatment, eat light food, avoid spicy foods, and eat regularly and chew slowly. Avoid overeating and eating before bedtime. Eat more green vegetables, such as cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, etc., which are not only nutritious but also help digestion.
