Source: Network
Tongue pain in the morning is caused by physiological and pathological factors, including oral ulcers, glossitis, and other diseases.
I. Physiological Factors
Consuming too many irritants before bedtime, such as raw, cold, spicy, or overheated foods, may cause greater stimulation to the tongue mucosa, leading to tongue pain when waking up in the morning.
II. Pathological Factors
- Oral Ulcers: Regularly eating a biased or selective diet and neglecting oral hygiene can reduce immune function, cause nutrient deficiency, and increase bacterial infection, leading to single or multiple ulcers on the tongue, causing local pain and burning sensations.
- Glossitis: Usually caused by nutrient deficiency, foreign object stimulation, excessive alcohol consumption, and other reasons, resulting in tongue inflammation with symptoms such as tongue swelling, color changes, a burning sensation on the tongue, tongue numbness, and pain during eating. Other causes such as herpes angina and glossopharyngeal neuralgia should also be considered.
If the pain persists, one should promptly visit the hospital for relevant examinations to understand the specific cause and choose an appropriate treatment method.
