Why Does a Woman Experience Lower Abdominal Pain?
Abdominal pain is a common health issue among women. The most frequent cause of this symptom is menstrual pain, followed by ovulation pain. Both of these phenomena are relatively normal and do not require special treatment. However, some diseases, such as ectopic pregnancy or endometriosis, can also cause abdominal pain in women. These abnormal conditions require timely medical examination and treatment.
If there are no other symptoms of uterine or pelvic disease in women, menstrual pain is considered as the cause of abdominal pain. This menstrual pain may disappear with age, so women only need to pay attention to related nursing issues during menstruation.
If a woman experiences abdominal pain after confirming pregnancy, along with symptoms such as vaginal bleeding, it is considered to be caused by ectopic pregnancy. In this case, immediate medical attention is required to avoid the risk of hemorrhage caused by ectopic pregnancy, which may endanger the life of the pregnant woman.
Ovulation can cause abdominal pain mainly because a small amount of fluid overflows into the woman's abdominal cavity during ovulation, stimulating the peritoneal membrane and causing abdominal pain. This type of abdominal pain does not require special treatment and usually resolves spontaneously after the ovulation period.
Endometrial tissue in women should grow inside the uterine cavity. However, if it grows outside the uterine cavity, it is considered endometriosis. Besides abdominal pain, patients may also experience a series of adverse symptoms such as menstrual pain, irregular menstruation, and infertility.
