What Medication Should I Use for My Babys Eczema?
When a baby develops eczema, topical ointments can be used for treatment under medical guidance. In case of severe symptoms, oral medication or intravenous infusion therapy should be administered as prescribed by a doctor.
I. Topical Ointments
1. Glucocorticoids: Such as Desonide Cream and Hydrocortisone Butyrate Cream, which have anti-inflammatory and antipruritic effects and are commonly used in the clinical treatment of allergic skin diseases and autoimmune inflammatory diseases.
2. Calcineurin Phosphatase Inhibitors: Including Tacrolimus Ointment and Pimecrolimus Cream, which are non-steroidal medications with anti-inflammatory properties and minimal side effects, making them suitable for special populations like children and pregnant women.
3. Antibiotics: Like Erythromycin Ointment and Sodium Fusidate Ointment, which can alleviate skin diseases caused by bacterial infections, such as folliculitis and furuncles.
4. Others: Under medical guidance, Calamine Lotion and Boric Acid Solution can also be applied to help alleviate itching symptoms.
II. Oral Medication or Intravenous Infusion
If the baby's condition is severe and local application of medication is ineffective, antihistamines such as Loratadine Tablets and Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride Capsules can be prescribed. In necessary cases, intravenous injections of Vitamin C and Glucose Solutions may be administered as adjuvant therapy.
Parents are advised to keep the affected area clean and dry, avoid scratching to prevent aggravation of discomfort. Additionally, maintain a balanced diet centered on light foods, with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, and minimize the intake of greasy or spicy foods to avoid irritation to the skin and hinder recovery.
