Can a blood test detect灰指甲 (onychomycosis)?
Routine blood tests usually cannot detect onychomycosis. Routine blood tests mainly involve the detection of blood cells, white blood cells, red blood cells, etc. However, onychomycosis is mainly caused by fungal infections, so routine blood tests cannot resist fungal infections and cannot treat onychomycosis. To treat onychomycosis, drug treatment or surgical treatment should be adopted according to the severity of the disease. 1. Drug treatment: For mild onychomycosis, amorolfine liniment, terbinafine hydrochloride cream, and other drugs can be used for external application. If the condition is severe, with symptoms such as exudation and severe pain, antifungal drugs may need to be taken under the guidance of a doctor, such as itraconazole capsules and terbinafine hydrochloride tablets. 2. Surgical treatment: If drug treatment is ineffective, patients can also undergo surgical treatment, commonly known as nail extraction. After nail extraction, ice acetic acid is applied externally to the affected area, which may further aggravate the infection. However, this method is generally only suitable for patients with severe conditions. 3. Daily care: Patients should maintain good personal hygiene habits, wear shoes and socks with good breathability, wash their hands and feet frequently, and avoid sharing personal items such as slippers and towels with others. In terms of diet, patients should focus on a light diet and avoid spicy and stimulating foods. Although onychomycosis is contagious, its infectivity is usually weak and generally does not spread through routine blood tests. Therefore, patients are advised not to worry excessively and maintain a good mindset.
