Can two women contract HIV?

Update Date: Source: Network

Women can get AIDS. AIDS is mainly transmitted through blood and sexual contact. The blood content in human semen is very high, so it is easy to be infected when having sex with AIDS patients. In daily life, one must be chaste and maintain good hygiene in sexual life. There should be no promiscuous behavior.

1. If one of the parties involved in sexual behavior is a confirmed HIV-infected person, then whether it is homosexuality, heterosexuality, or lesbianism, healthy people have a chance of being infected by the virus during sexual behavior. However, the infection rates vary, with male homosexuals having a slightly higher infection rate, heterosexuals second, and lesbians having the lowest infection rate.

2. AIDS is caused by infection with the HIV virus. HIV destroys a large number of T lymphocytes, causing the human body to lose immune function. The incubation period of HIV in the human body can reach 8 to 9 years.

3. The clinical manifestations of AIDS are not specific, and the clinical manifestations of HIV in men and women are roughly the same. About 1-2 weeks after exposure to HIV, symptoms such as fever, fatigue, sore throat, and general malaise may appear, similar to upper respiratory tract infection. A few patients may also experience headache, skin lesions, meningoencephalitis, acute multiple neuritis, and lymphadenopathy in the neck, occipital, and axillary regions, as well as hepatosplenomegaly. These manifestations usually disappear within 1 month.
