Is an HP test used to examine the cervix?
The HP test is not for examining the cervix, but for detecting Helicobacter pylori, which can be done invasively or non-invasively. The non-invasive method commonly used is the C13 or C14 breath test. The invasive method involves HP testing of mucosal tissue under a gastroscope. This test can determine whether there is Helicobacter pylori infection in the stomach through breath or mucosal tissue examination.
1. If Helicobacter pylori infection is present, it can easily lead to gastritis, gastric ulcer, and may even further develop into gastric cancer. However, not all patients with HP infection will definitely develop gastritis, gastric ulcer, or more severe conditions.
2. Generally, HP-infected gastritis is more common among people who prefer to eat outside, consume alcohol long-term, or overeat, which can easily lead to HP infection. If HP infection is present with obvious symptoms, further examination and treatment are required. For asymptomatic infection alone, regular check-ups can be performed, and it is recommended to separate meals from family members to prevent cross-infection.
3. 95% of chronic gastritis cases are infected with Helicobacter pylori. Studies have shown that eradicating Helicobacter pylori can lead to the resolution of gastritis, disappearance of active gastritis, and improvement of antral gastritis.
4. The pathological process of HP infection evolving into gastric cancer is: HP infection - chronic gastritis - atrophic gastritis - intestinal metaplasia - atypical hyperplasia - gastric cancer.
5. The detection rate of HP in patients with functional dyspepsia is as high as 80%. After eradicating Helicobacter pylori, the symptoms of such patients with dyspepsia improve.
