Adopting a left-side sleeping position and alternating it with the right side can effectively eliminate fatigue and muscle tension, which is beneficial for ensuring good sleep quality for pregnant women. Additionally, sleeping on the left side does not put pressure on the large blood vessels in the abdomen, ensuring smooth blood flow. While primarily adopting the left-side sleeping position, pregnant women can make appropriate adjustments during sleep, such as alternating with other positions like lying flat, to make sleep less strenuous. During the second trimester, when the abdomen is already quite prominent, it is advisable to avoid sleeping on the back and instead adopt a side-lying position. Changing sleeping positions regularly is also beneficial for both the mother and the fetus.
