This is a stress response and a protective mechanism of the body. However, the human body possesses a comprehensive self-protection system, similar to vomiting automatically when ingesting something unpleasant. When the intake of harmful substances exceeds a certain amount, the body's instinct to protect itself is activated, driving the body to "get rid of the dirty stuff," leading to the urge to spit. It could also be due to throat inflammation caused by smoke irritation. It is recommended to consume more fruits to adjust.

Dietary Considerations for Smokers:

1. Consume foods that lower cholesterol: Smoking can increase the deposition of cholesterol and fat in the blood vessels, reducing blood supply to the brain, leading to brain atrophy and accelerated brain aging. Therefore, smokers should reduce their intake of foods containing saturated fats, such as fatty meats, and increase their consumption of foods that can lower or inhibit cholesterol synthesis, such as milk, fish, soy products, and high-fiber foods like chili powder, cinnamon, fruits, and vegetables.

2. Consume foods rich in vitamin B2: Such foods include animal liver, egg yolks, dairy products, lean meat, spinach, fruits, eel, carrots, brewer's yeast, and shiitake mushrooms.

3. Consume foods rich in vitamin C: Foods rich in vitamin C include oranges, lemons, grapefruits, tomatoes, cherries, hawthorns, guavas, chili peppers, strawberries, kale, cauliflower, and kiwis. Smoking depletes vitamin C in the body, so consuming fruits and vegetables high in vitamin C can help replenish it.

4. Consume foods rich in selenium: Foods rich in selenium include animal liver, seaweed, and shrimp. Smoking can lead to a low selenium level in the blood, and selenium is an essential trace element for cancer prevention.
