Why Do I Have More and More Gray Hairs at Age 30?
Many young people have a lot of white hair, which is a common phenomenon. White hair can affect people's appearance and cause mental stress. There are many reasons for white hair, including albinism, other inherited metabolic diseases, drug factors, environmental factors, unhealthy lifestyles, nutritional factors, and mental factors.
Albinism is a congenital inherited disease caused by mutations in genes related to pigmentation, resulting in the inability of melanin to be normally synthesized. Albinism is manifested as hypopigmentation or lack of pigmentation in the skin, hair, and/or fundus of the eye. Individuals with complete pigmentation deficiency have pure white body hair, accompanied by pink or blue transparent irises, nystagmus, photophobia, low vision, and other ocular symptoms.
Diseases such as Griscelli syndrome, Hutchinson-Gilford syndrome, piebaldism, phenylketonuria, Waardenburg syndrome, Werner syndrome, tuberous sclerosis, and histidinemia can also manifest with symptoms of white hair.
Abnormal function of tyrosinase can affect melanin synthesis, so some drugs that affect tyrosinase activity may cause white hair, such as tyrosinase inhibitors or antimalarial drugs.
Long-term exposure to sunlight can lead to damage to melanocytes, resulting in decreased melanin synthesis function and the appearance of white hair, known as "sun bleaching".
Bad habits such as staying up late for a long time, smoking and drinking, or nutritional deficiencies caused by dieting and partial eating can also lead to premature hair graying.
Zinc is an important trace element in the human body and a necessary element for melanin synthesis. Zinc deficiency can lead to hypopigmentation or complete loss of pigmentation, while excessive zinc can also inhibit melanin synthesis, resulting in hair graying. Additionally, deficiencies in vitamins and minerals such as vitamin B12, folic acid, biotin, iron, copper, selenium, and others may also cause symptoms of white hair.
Long-term emotional stress, high stress levels, anxiety, depression, and other negative emotions may lead to partial or complete hair graying.
