What Are the Common Causes and Treatments for Cervical Spine Protrusion?
Prominent cervical vertebra generally refers to the protrusion of cervical bones. If it is a normal physiological phenomenon, special treatment is usually not required. If it is caused by cervical dislocation, traction or surgical treatment can be performed. If it is caused by cervical spine fracture, conservative treatment can be considered first.
1. Physiological Phenomenon: The bony protrusion at the back of the neck may be normal tissue of the human body, such as the 7th spinous process, especially in individuals who are thin and often lower their heads. This is a normal physiological phenomenon that does not require special treatment. It is recommended to appropriately strengthen personal nutrition.
2. Cervical Dislocation: Due to flexion violence, the ligament structure of the cervical spine may be damaged, leading to intervertebral dislocation and cervical bone protrusion. Patients are advised to undergo cranial traction or cervical support as soon as possible to stabilize the cervical spine and relieve spinal cord compression. For severe cases, anterior and posterior surgical treatment can be adopted.
3. Cervical Spine Fracture: Due to long-term strain, violent trauma, osteoporosis, and other factors, cervical spine fracture and cervical bone protrusion may occur. If there is a cervical spine fracture, conservative treatment can be performed with cervical collar fixation. For old fractures accompanied by pain, oral analgesics such as Ibuprofen and Diclofenac Sodium Sustained-Release Tablets can be used to relieve symptoms.
Cervical bone protrusion may also have other causes. It is recommended to visit the hospital promptly and receive standardized treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
