How often should newborns be fed?
It is generally recommended to feed newborn babies every 2 to 3 hours. Especially for babies who have just been born and are not yet full-term, they can be fed every two hours. However, it is important to control the amount of milk, gradually increasing from 10 milliliters based on the baby's needs. Typically, by the time the baby is one month old, each feeding can reach 60 to 80 milliliters.
As the baby grows, the interval between feedings can gradually be extended. For example, a 3- to 4-month-old baby can be fed every three to four hours, and by the time they are 6 to 7 months old, they can be fed every four to five hours. However, since every baby's physical condition is different, these intervals are not fixed and should be determined based on specific circumstances.
Special care for premature babies is required as their physical conditions are unique. They tend to have poor tolerance and small stomach capacity, so the frequency and amount of feedings vary. Some premature babies may need to be fed every hour initially, gradually increasing based on their acceptance.
The growth and care of infants and young children is crucial and requires careful attention. As parents, it is important to prioritize their health and development. Only by providing scientific feeding can we better help them grow healthily and vigorously.
