What Are the Causes of Prolapsed Anus?
Prolapse refers to the condition commonly known as anal protrusion. Although it may not seem like a serious illness, anal protrusion can have a significant impact on daily life and work, especially causing embarrassment. Many people suffer from this condition in their daily lives, and it is essential to take it seriously and seek timely treatment. However, it is crucial to understand the causes of anal protrusion before treatment to ensure targeted therapy and avoid blind medication.
1. Malnutrition or chronic diarrhea. Insufficient nutrition can lead to the absorption of the rectal membrane, resulting in the lack of fat support and making the anus prone to protrusion. Prompt treatment is necessary for prolapse caused by this reason, but it is also essential to supplement nutrition to restore the body to a normal state, as otherwise, although the prolapse may be cured, it is prone to recurrence.
2. Congenital deficiency. Due to incomplete development, a baby's rectum often lacks support from surrounding nutritional soft tissue, making it prone to prolapse. Special treatment measures are generally not required for prolapse in newborns, and it can heal automatically as the baby grows up.
3. Decline of Qi and Blood. Weakened physical functions in the elderly or relaxed pelvic floor muscles in women who have undergone multiple childbirths can lead to prolapse. In such cases, apart from necessary treatment measures, regular exercise, such as pelvic floor exercises, is also recommended.
4. Increased abdominal pressure. Symptoms such as coughing and constipation can increase abdominal pressure, causing relaxation of the submucosa and muscle tissue of the rectum. Separation of the mucosa from the underlying tissue can lead to prolapse.
5. Third-stage internal hemorrhoids. Rectal polyps or anal-rectal tumors can easily cause the rectum to protrude from the body, resulting in prolapse. Advanced internal hemorrhoids and polyps can also protrude from the anus, resembling prolapse but actually caused by these conditions.
