White rhubarb primarily treats wind-induced phlegm, calms convulsions, detoxifies and resolves nodules, and relieves pain. It is commonly used in the treatment of stroke, facial paralysis, unclear speech, convulsions, and tetanus. Additionally, it can be used for migraine headaches and snakebites. Besides internal use, it can also be applied externally by crushing and applying it to the affected area to treat insect or snake bites. However, please note that this herb is toxic and should not be used by pregnant women.
