What Should I Do If Someone Experiences Sudden Cardiac Arrest?
In case of sudden cardiac arrest, call the emergency number 120 immediately and provide first aid to the patient by means of chest compressions or artificial respiration.
1. Chest Compressions: Upon encountering someone with sudden cardiac arrest, lay the patient flat on their back on a firm surface. Kneel on one side of the patient's chest, press the lower half of the sternum with your hands overlapping and parallelly inclined upwards, arms vertical, directly above the pressing point which is the midpoint of the connection between the two nipples. Press down with your body weight, using force and rapid compressions to maintain some blood flow in the heart.
2. Artificial Respiration: During artificial respiration, pinch the patient's nostrils, lift the chin, cover the patient's mouth with yours, and blow slowly for about one second. Effective artificial respiration can be seen by the rise and fall of the patient's chest, serving a certain degree of emergency rescue.
Through emergency methods such as chest compressions and artificial respiration, the patient can be helped to restore heartbeat. Upon the arrival of rescuers, the patient will continue to receive cardiopulmonary resuscitation, along with defibrillation and oxygen supply.
