What are the adverse reactions and side effects of administering Azithromycin?
Common adverse reactions of azithromycin include gastrointestinal reactions, abdominal distension, abdominal pain, nausea, and occasionally dizziness, headache, rash, edema, etc. If the infusion is too fast, it can easily cause phlebitis. Therefore, vitamin B6 is often used concomitantly for antiemetic purposes during intravenous injection. Additionally, azithromycin is contraindicated for individuals with allergies to azithromycin, erythromycin, or any other macrolide antibiotics.
