What are the symptoms of corneal ulcer?
1. The cornea itself is very thin, with the thickest part being about 1mm. After the cornea forms an ulcer, the remaining tissue becomes even thinner. When exerting force, coughing, sneezing, lifting heavy objects, or engaging in vigorous activities, it may cause corneal perforation, and even protrusion of intraocular contents, leading to a series of complications and causing permanent vision loss. Ulcerative keratitis is also known as corneal ulcer.
2. In severe cases, it can lead to corneal perforation. If not treated promptly, it will leave permanent scars, affecting vision. For bacterial infections, antibiotic eye drops should be used, and antibiotic eye ointment should be applied before bedtime.
Large-area gastric ulcers generally do not require surgical removal and can be improved through diet combined with medication. The third scenario is when gastric ulcers are complicated by scarred pyloric obstruction, and endoscopic dilation treatment is ineffective. If gastric ulcer is suspected of malignancy, preventive surgery is needed to resect the entire ulcer site and expand the resection to include suspicious lesions to avoid adverse complications.
