"Comprehensive Guide: Seeking Effective Traditional Chinese Medicine Approaches for Hair Loss Treatment?"

Update Date: Source: Network

Hair loss can be treated through internal and external application of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), dietary therapy, massage, acupuncture, and other methods. Here are the details:

1. Internal Treatment with Traditional Chinese Medicine

Patients can choose to take Bu Niu Xi Wan (a pill containing Chinese medicinal herbs) or Si Jun Zi Tang (Four Gentlemen Decoction). For Bu Niu Xi Wan, medicinal herbs such as Achyranthes bidentata root, fresh rehmannia root, mandarin orange peel, Lisu, cortex of lycium, etc., are crushed and made into honey pills for internal consumption. For Si Jun Zi Tang, herbs like ginseng, largehead atractylodes rhizome, poria cocos, licorice, prepared rehmannia root, etc., are decocted into a soup for ingestion.

2. External Application of Traditional Chinese Medicine

External application involves boiling medicinal herbs like chrysanthemum, vitex trifolia fruit, dried cypress leaves, chuanxiong rhizome, mulberry bark root, angelica dahurica root, asarum root, and eclipta prostrata, then washing the hair with the decoction.

3. Dietary Therapy

Boil water over high heat, add appropriate ingredients, and simmer to make porridge. Add a pinch of salt. Consume this once or twice daily for 10-15 consecutive days. This porridge nourishes kidney yin and strengthens the spleen, suitable for those with hair loss due to spleen and kidney yin deficiency.

4. Massage and Acupressure

Apply 20ml of Vitamin B1 solution onto the scalp. Using the five fingers of your right hand, comb from the Shen Ting acupoint at the forehead to the Ya Men acupoint at the rear hairline, repeating 36 times. Then, use both hands to comb the sides of the head, 36 times each. Close your fingers and tap the Bai Hui acupoint 54 times. Vibrate the Yifeng, Yiming, Fengchi, and other acupoints on both sides with your thumbs for 3 times, 10 seconds each. Rub the Sanyinjiao acupoint with your thumb for 15 seconds, press and pluck 5 times, and vibrate 3 times, 10 seconds each. Press the Lao Gong acupoint with your palm on areas of hair loss or thinning, vibrating 5 times, 10 seconds each.

5. Acupuncture Therapy

Acupuncture points used include Shenshu, Sanyinjiao, Fengchi, Bai Hui, Touwei, Shengfa (midpoint between Fengchi and Fengfu), and others, targeting the underlying causes of hair loss.
