Why Does My Kidney Hurt When I Squeeze It?
Pressing on the kidneys refers to applying pressure to the kidneys. A little pain may be caused by lumbar muscle strain, nephritis, kidney stones, or other reasons. Here are some possible causes:
1. Lumbar Muscle Strain: Affected by the disease, the lumbar muscles are overly stretched, causing the area to be in a state of congestion and edema. Local irritation can cause pain, and lumbar activities may also be restricted.
2. Nephritis: When the kidneys are stimulated by inflammatory reactions, local nerves and tissues are damaged. Pressing on them will aggravate the irritation of inflammatory exudates on the wound. At this time, there will be obvious pain, often accompanied by symptoms such as renal pain and frequent urination.
3. Kidney Stones: After the formation of stones, they constantly irritate surrounding tissues and nerves. When pressing on the kidneys, they will be stimulated again, causing spasms and pain, which is mostly persistent stabbing pain, usually accompanied by obstruction of urine excretion.
Apart from the above reasons, kidney tumors can also cause this symptom. If the symptoms are severe, it is recommended to seek medical diagnosis and treatment promptly. Meanwhile, take appropriate rest and avoid frequently pressing on the kidneys.
