Natural Herbal Remedies for Allergy Relief: Seeking Effective Solutions?
In our daily lives, we may encounter allergies to certain foods or microorganisms in the air. Such allergies can lead to symptoms such as itching or red spots on the skin. Generally, symptoms tend to improve when one avoids the allergens. Treating allergies can be challenging as they are often associated with immune system disorders. In cases of severe allergic reactions, traditional Chinese medicine may be used for conditioning.
1. Purslane: Clean the skin with water, mash a small portion of purslane and apply it to the affected area. Boil the remaining purslane in water and drink it. The boiled purslane can also be seasoned with soy sauce, vinegar, and sesame oil for consumption.
2. Mugwort Oil: Derived from the leaves of mugwort, a plant belonging to the Asteraceae family. It has a bitter, pungent, and warm taste. It enters the liver, spleen, and kidney meridians. Mugwort oil is known for its analgesic and hemostatic properties. Modern studies have reported its anti-allergic effects, making it suitable for the treatment of allergic dermatitis.
3. Senecio scandens: Depending on the size of the affected area, take an appropriate amount of Senecio scandens (double the amount if using fresh herbs), boil it in water for 15-30 minutes, and use the resulting liquid to fumigate and wash the affected area. Repeat this process once in the morning and once in the evening for 2-3 days to see results. In folk medicine, the branches of "Baganchai" (a type of shrub) are also used for boiling and fumigating.
4. Bingpengsan: First, clean the affected area with physiological saline. After it dries, sprinkle an appropriate amount of Bingpengsan onto the area and cover it with a Vaseline gauze bandage.
5. Sichuan pepper: Grind 40 grams of Sichuan pepper into coarse powder, soak it in 2000 milliliters of water, boil it, and use the filtered liquid to wash and soak the affected area. Repeat this process once in the morning and once in the evening, for 30 minutes each time. During treatment, avoid using soap, hot water baths, and refrain from eating fishy, greasy, and spicy foods.
