What could be the reason for painless bleeding in stool?
There are many reasons for painless blood in stool, a common one is mixed hemorrhoids. Due to the influence of gravity or diet, it often leads to the rupture of hemorrhoidal veins, resulting in bleeding without causing pain. Another cause for vigilance is rectal polyps or malignant rectal tumors, both of which can easily cause painless blood in stool.
Mixed hemorrhoids, especially internal hemorrhoids, are relatively common. Long-term gravitational effects, eating spicy food or drinking alcohol can lead to the accumulation and swelling of hemorrhoids, causing rupture of hemorrhoidal veins and bleeding. If hemorrhoids do not form thrombus or become incarcerated, they generally do not cause pain, so internal hemorrhoid bleeding usually does not cause pain.
If a patient has rectal polyps, long-term stool stimulation can easily cause blood vessel rupture on the surface of the rectal mucosa, causing bleeding when wiping stool, which generally does not cause pain.
Considered as a malignant rectal tumor, if a patient has a malignant tumor, it will erode the blood vessels under the mucosa, causing bleeding without pain. Therefore, if there is bleeding during bowel movements, one should promptly seek medical attention and, if necessary, undergo rectal examination, anoscopy, or colonoscopy to determine the cause.
