Levofloxacin Sodium Chloride

Levofloxacin Sodium Chloride is a commonly used antibacterial drug that effectively treats infections caused by sensitive bacteria. It exhibits excellent antibacterial activity against infections such as respiratory system infections, urinary system infections, and reproductive system infections. Additionally, it can effectively treat sepsis and infections caused by decreased immune function. Efficacy of Levofloxacin Sodium Chloride

This medication is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe infections caused by sensitive bacteria, including:

  • Respiratory system infections: acute bronchitis, acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, diffuse bronchitis, bronchiectasis with infection, pneumonia, tonsillitis (peritonsillar abscess).
  • Urinary system infections: pyelonephritis, complicated urinary tract infections, etc.
  • Reproductive system infections: acute prostatitis, acute epididymitis, intrauterine infections, pelvic inflammatory disease (may be used concomitantly with metronidazole in cases suspected of anaerobic infections).
  • Skin and soft tissue infections: impetigo, cellulitis, lymphangitis/lymphadenitis, subcutaneous abscess, perianal abscess, etc.
  • Intestinal infections: bacillary dysentery, infectious enteritis, Salmonella enteritis, typhoid, and paratyphoid fever.
  • Sepsis and various infections in patients with granulocytopenia and immunocompromise.
  • Other infections: mastitis, wounds and burns, postoperative infections, abdominal infections (may be used concomitantly with metronidazole), cholecystitis, cholangitis, bone and joint infections, and infections of the ENT department.

Dosage and Administration

Intravenous drip: 400mg per day for adults, divided into 2 infusions. For patients with severe infections or those with poor sensitivity to this drug (such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa), the maximum daily dosage can be increased to 600mg, divided into 2 infusions. The dosage may be adjusted according to the type and severity of the infection.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to quinolones, pregnant and lactating women, and individuals under 18 years of age.
