Is It Normal for the Stomach to Gurgle During Early Pregnancy?

Update Date: Source: Network

In the early stages of pregnancy, stomach gurgling may be normal or abnormal, depending on the specific situation. After pregnancy, due to hormonal changes, the gastrointestinal function of pregnant women weakens, leading to poor digestion and often accompanied by symptoms such as gastrointestinal bloating and constipation.

During early pregnancy, frequently consuming high-protein and high-starch foods, such as soybeans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and pumpkins, can cause symptoms of indigestion, resulting in stomach gurgling.

If there are no other discomforting symptoms, it is usually considered normal and not a cause for great concern. Timely adjustment of diet can improve these symptoms.

Some women initially eat less, but after pregnancy, their nutritional needs increase. If their diet remains small, their stomach may also gurgle due to faster food consumption, indicating that pregnant women need to promptly supplement their food, which is also considered normal.

However, if stomach gurgling is accompanied by symptoms such as diarrhea and loose stool, it may indicate abnormality and is often related to factors such as colds and unsanitary diet.
