Reasons for Eyes Being Sensitive to Bright Light

Sensitivity to bright light in the eyes may indicate the possibility of developing nearsightedness or eye diseases such as keratitis, conjunctivitis, and dry eye syndrome. Additionally, excessive eye fatigue can also lead to this phenomenon. Nowadays, with the widespread use of electronic devices, many people have become nearsighted, making their eyes sensitive to bright light and unable to see distant objects clearly. Reasons for Eyes Being Sensitive to Bright Light

1. Refractive Errors: For example, if there is nearsightedness or astigmatism in the eyes, these conditions may cause a decline in vision, leading to light aversion under bright light.

2. Local Inflammation: Diseases like conjunctivitis and keratitis can also cause the eyes to be sensitive to bright light. Dry Eye Syndrome: Computer users and those who frequently wear contact lenses are prone to developing dry eye syndrome, manifesting as dryness, fatigue, itching, a sense of foreign body, sensitivity to wind and light, and blurred vision. Patients with dry eye syndrome should develop the habit of frequently blinking, maintain a certain distance from the computer while working, and consume more fresh fruits and vegetables to alleviate the symptoms of light aversion caused by dry eye syndrome.
