What is a Thyroid Mixed Nodule?
1. Thyroid mixed nodule is a solid and cystic mixed thyroid gland nodule.
2. Thyroid nodules are usually lumps formed in the thyroid tissue due to abnormal growth of thyroid cells. According to the texture of the nodules, they can be divided into solid thyroid nodules and cystic thyroid nodules. Thyroid mixed nodules are composed of a mixture of solid and cystic thyroid nodules, containing both solid tissue and cystic fluid.
3. Most of these nodules are caused by rupture and hemorrhage of the nodules, which are usually benign lesions. If the nodule is small, it can be temporarily observed; if the nodule is large and has obvious compressive symptoms, surgical removal is usually required. However, a few mixed nodules may be malignant lesions, so timely surgical treatment, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy are needed to improve prognosis.
4. It is recommended that patients promptly undergo other tests, such as MRI, tumor marker tests, and pathological biopsies, to clarify the nature of the nodules for targeted treatment and avoid delaying the condition.
