What are the common signs of ovarian cysts in women?

Update Date: Source: Network

The ovary is the place where a woman produces eggs and plays a vital role in her conception. Once ovarian cysts develop, not only will the woman suffer from the disease, but her chances of pregnancy will also decrease. Therefore, it can be said that ovarian cysts still pose a significant threat to women's health. If symptoms of ovarian cysts appear in daily life, we need to be vigilant against their onset. The common symptoms of ovarian cysts are as follows:

1. Lower abdominal discomfort. Lower abdominal discomfort is the initial symptom before patients feel a lower abdominal mass. Due to the weight of the tumor itself and the influence of intestinal motility and posture changes, the tumor moves in the pelvic cavity, involving its pedicle and pelvic funnel ligament, causing patients to feel fullness and a sinking sensation in the lower abdomen or bone nest.

2. Oppressive symptoms. Large ovarian tumors can cause dyspnea and palpitations, and ovarian tumors with a large amount of ascites can also cause these symptoms; however, dyspnea in some ovarian tumor patients is caused by pleural effusion on one or both sides of the chest.

3. Abdominal pain. If the tumor is uncomplicated, pain is rare. Therefore, patients with ovarian tumors who experience abdominal pain, especially if it occurs suddenly, are mostly due to torsion of the tumor pedicle, occasionally caused by tumor rupture, hemorrhage, or infection. In addition, malignant cysts mainly cause abdominal pain and leg pain, and the pain often requires urgent treatment.

4. Menstrual disorders. Generally, the ovaries, even bilateral ovarian cysts, mainly do not cause menstrual disorders as they do not destroy all normal ovarian tissue. Some uterine bleeding is not endocrine-related, or ovarian tumors alter the distribution of pelvic blood vessels, leading to endometrial hyperemia; or due to direct metastasis of malignant ovarian tumors to the endometrium.

5. Increased abdominal circumference and abdominal swelling. Patients notice that their clothes or belts look tight, just notice an increase in abdominal size, or accidentally feel it in the morning, so they find that there is swelling in the abdomen, accompanied by abdominal discomfort.

6. Frequent urination without dysuria or urgency; or constipation. The common signs of ovarian cysts are the above points, and it is hoped that they will be helpful to women. Women are prone to gynecological diseases in the morning after sexual activity. Therefore, it is very important to visit the hospital for examination and treatment as soon as possible once the above adverse symptoms appear. Do not delay, leading to a worsening condition.
