How to Deal with Heart Arrest Caused by Hypoglycemia?
1. The treatment for cardiac arrest caused by hypoglycemia needs to be carried out according to the patient's condition, generally through lateral recumbent position, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and other methods.
2. Hypoglycemia is a syndrome mainly characterized by low blood glucose concentration, sympathetic nerve excitement, and cerebral cell hypoxia. The causes may be related to excessive dieting or long-term reduction in food intake. Mild patients may experience symptoms such as dizziness after falling ill. In this case, the patient should immediately sit down to rest and eat some food with high sugar content as soon as possible.
3. If the patient's symptoms are severe, cardiac arrest should be treated promptly, and emergency services should be called. If the patient is unresponsive but breathing, they should be placed in a lateral recumbent position. During this period, care should be taken not to feed water or food to the patient to avoid aspiration and suffocation. If the patient is neither responsive nor breathing, artificial respiration, chest compressions, etc., should be performed promptly.
4. After admission to the hospital, doctors generally use medications such as Atropine Sulfate Injection, Lidocaine Hydrochloride Injection, and Glucose Injection.
