Why Does the Blood Removed from Cupping Resemble Tofu?
Reasons Why Blood Extracted from Cupping Resembles Tofu
The blood extracted from cupping that resembles tofu is mostly due to blood stasis. Cupping helps to eliminate the stagnant blood in the body, but it is not recommended to do it frequently. It is advisable to have cupping once a month. In daily life, it is important to maintain an appropriate amount of exercise to enhance physical fitness, supplement nutrition by eating fresh fruits and vegetables, maintain a regular schedule, and undergo regular physical examinations.
Precautions for Cupping
1. Prevent Infection: After cupping, if there is redness or itching on the skin, do not scratch it. It will dissipate after several hours or days. The appearance of blisters, water droplets, bleeding points, or bruises is a normal treatment reaction. For minor blisters, avoid scratching them and allow them to heal naturally. For larger blisters, use a sterilized needle to prick the base of the blister and apply a sterile gauze to prevent infection.
2. Avoid Burns: Do not let the igniting material fall into the cup or burn the skin around the cup to prevent burns.
3. Unsuitable Areas: Cupping should not be performed on skin with wounds, scars, growths, or bony protrusions. Additionally, the same area should not be cupped every day, and cupping should not be performed again until the previous marks have faded.
4. Cupping Duration: The duration of cupping depends on the severity and location of the condition being treated. For severe conditions or deep-seated pain, a longer duration is advisable. For mild conditions or superficial areas, a shorter duration is recommended. The duration can also be adjusted based on the thickness of the muscle tissue and the climate.
5. Keep Warm: Cupping requires removing clothing, so it is important to avoid drafts and maintain a warm indoor temperature during the treatment to prevent chilling.
