What Does a Negative HPV Test Result Indicate?
Hpv turning negative indicates that the HPV virus in the body has basically been eliminated, and the patient's body has recovered to a healthy state. HPV is the human papillomavirus, and a positive result of 1 represents that the patient is infected with this virus, such as genital warts. However, HPV infection has a certain recurrence rate, so it is necessary to maintain good hygiene in the private area after turning negative, including changing and washing underwear every day, and paying attention to a light diet.
1. Abnormal warts on the external genitalia: After continuous infection with low-risk HPV and the development of genital warts, there may be abnormal manifestations on the external genitalia, specifically the growth of warts. Initially, the patient's private area may only have patches of small papules accompanied by intense itching, and subsequently, cauliflower-like, nipple-like, or cockscomb-like warts may appear. These warts are relatively soft, easily bleed and cause pain, and some patients may also experience abnormal vaginal discharge and odor.
2. Abnormal vaginal discharge: If there is persistent high-risk HPV infection and cervical cancer develops, with disease progression, the patient may experience abnormal vaginal discharge. Early manifestations are primarily increased white discharge and watery discharge. Later, as the tumor ulcerates, necrotizes, and becomes infected, the patient may experience rice water-like, bloody discharge accompanied by a strong fishy odor.
3. Bleeding: Another typical manifestation of cervical cancer is abnormal bleeding in the private area, including contact bleeding and irregular vaginal bleeding. Contact bleeding refers to vaginal bleeding that occurs suddenly after sexual intercourse or straining during bowel movements. Irregular vaginal bleeding refers to bleeding that occurs outside of menstruation or after menopause.
