Grapes are neither cooling nor warming in nature; they are considered neutral fruits. According to traditional Chinese medicine, grapes have a neutral nature, a sweet and sour taste, and affect the lungs, spleen, and kidneys. They are believed to nourish Qi and blood, benefit the liver and kidneys, promote the production of saliva and bodily fluids, strengthen bones and muscles, relieve cough and irritation, and facilitate urination. Grapes do not contain heat-inducing or cold-inducing properties, making them suitable for consumption by various individuals without causing heat-related issues. However, some varieties of grapes may contain higher levels of plant acids and sugars, which can irritate the oral mucosa and cause damage. If infected by bacteria, this can lead to the development of oral ulcers, similar to the symptoms of heat-related issues.
Grapes are alkaline in nature. The acidity or alkalinity of food is not determined by its taste but rather by the acidic or alkaline substances produced after digestion, absorption, and metabolism in the body. After metabolism, grapes produce a relatively high amount of sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium ions, leading to an alkaline reaction in the body. Generally, foods rich in minerals such as potassium, calcium, and magnesium are considered alkaline, classifying grapes as alkaline foods.

- People with Diarrhea: Those who frequently experience diarrhea should consume grapes sparingly. Grapes have a digestive-stimulating effect, and consuming them during diarrhea can exacerbate the symptoms.
- Individuals with Weak Spleen and Stomach: Many people have a weak constitution and symptoms of spleen and stomach deficiency. In such cases, it is advisable to avoid eating fresh grapes, as they may weaken the constitution and allow cold symptoms to invade. If there is a need to supplement vitamins and amino acids, it is best to opt for other fruits.
