Metronidazole suppositories mainly have two modes of administration, which are external use drugs, including vaginal administration and rectal administration. During the treatment period, attention should be paid to the course of medication.
1. Function of Metronidazole Suppositories. Metronidazole suppositories can play a strong role in killing trichomonas, so they are commonly used in clinical treatment of trichomonas vaginalis infectious diseases. Metronidazole also has a very good killing effect on anaerobic microorganisms and cells growing under hypoxic conditions, and its metabolites generated during reduction in the human body can also play an anti-anaerobic role.
2. Usage. Vaginal administration and rectal administration. Before using metronidazole suppositories, wash your hands, external genitals, or anus first. Take out a suppository from the packaging box, separate the plastic film wrapped around the front and back of the suppository from the lower end and take it out for standby use. Be careful when pulling it apart to prevent it from popping off. Then take out a plastic finger cover from the box and put it on the index finger that will be used to insert the medication. At the same time, point the conical head of the suppository towards the vagina or anus, and gently insert it into the deep part of the vagina or anus with the finger covered with the finger cover.
3. Dosage. When vaginal administration is used to treat trichomonas vaginitis, use one suppository of about 0.5 grams each time, once before bedtime every day, and the continuous treatment time is 7-10 days. After rectal administration, push the suppository into the anus, and pay attention to keeping the tail end of the suppository about 2 centimeters away from the anus. Use one suppository (0.5 grams) each time, but it should be used 2-3 times daily.
