What Type of Blood Flows Through the Right Atrium?

The right atrium carries venous blood, while arterial blood enters the veins and then flows into the left atrium. The heart is a very important organ, but it is also prone to various diseases. 1. The atrioventricular valve between the left atrium and the left ventricle is called the mitral valve, which opens towards the left ventricle, so blood can only flow from the left atrium to the left ventricle. The atrioventricular valve between the right atrium and the right ventricle is called the tricuspid valve, which opens towards the right ventricle, so blood can only flow from the right atrium to the right ventricle.

The aorta is connected to the left ventricle, and the valve located between the aorta is called the aortic valve, which opens towards the aorta, allowing blood to flow from the left ventricle to the aorta. The right ventricle is connected to the pulmonary artery, and the valve located between the pulmonary artery is called the pulmonary valve, which faces the pulmonary artery, allowing blood to flow from the right ventricle to the pulmonary artery.

3. Starting from the left atrium, the direction of blood flow is as follows: left atrium → left ventricle → aorta → systemic circulation → superior and inferior vena cava → right atrium → right ventricle → pulmonary artery → pulmonary vein.
