Why does picking your nose easily lead to bleeding?
1. The most common reason for nosebleeds caused by frequently picking the nose is that there is an arterial plexus called Little's area in the mucosa at the front of the nose. Frequent picking can easily lead to mucosal erosion and tissue collapse, causing the blood vessels of the arterial plexus to be exposed, which is very prone to nosebleeds after picking the nose.
2. It may be caused by a deviated nasal septum that is severely biased towards one side of the septum. The mucosa on the deviated side is relatively thin and fragile, and it is very easy to injure the capillaries during nose picking, leading to nasal bleeding.
If you bleed from picking your nose, avoid forcibly blowing or picking your nose. At the same time, use an ice pack to apply ice to the head and face to constrict the blood vessels and reduce bleeding. If there is blood clot or excessive mucus in the nasal cavity, you can use physiological saline to rinse the nasal cavity to keep it moist and clean. If the bleeding is severe, you need to go to the hospital to check for small artery rupture and bleeding, and receive electrocoagulation hemostasis treatment.
