What should not be eaten together with Chinese yam?
1. Yam has a good effect on strengthening the spleen and stomach, while fish is rich in protein. However, these two foods cannot be eaten together, as it may lead to symptoms such as nausea and vomiting.

2. Pig liver is rich in trace elements such as copper, iron, and zinc. When the vitamin C in yam encounters metal ions such as copper, iron, and zinc, it will accelerate oxidation and be destroyed, reducing its nutritional value. Therefore, yam is not suitable for consumption with pig liver.
3. Almonds are alkaline foods that form metal ions such as potassium, calcium, sodium, and magnesium after decomposition in the body, which may reduce the absorption of vitamins in yam. Therefore, yam should not be eaten with almonds.
4. Yam is a type of traditional Chinese medicine. Consuming it with beans may increase the burden on the stomach and intestines. Bean foods are prone to gas production, while yam is a food rich in starch. Eating them together can hinder digestion in the stomach and intestines, causing discomfort and, in severe cases, gastrointestinal diseases. For example, green beans and soybeans should not be eaten with yam.
