What Should I Do About Hand Peeling in Summer?
If hand peeling occurs in summer, do not immediately use antifungal medications, as these drugs can be stimulating to the skin of the hands. Instead, gradually improve peeling by washing hands with salt water and ginger soup. It is also a good idea to give your skin a massage. Try to avoid contact with irritating substances such as laundry detergent and dish soap. Hand peeling is also known as pompholyx, which is a vesicular disease of the palms and feet. It mostly occurs at the end of spring and the beginning of summer, worsens in summer, and can heal spontaneously in winter. It is more common in adolescents. The cause of the disease is not fully understood. In the past, it was thought to be caused by excessive sweating of the hands and feet and retention of sweat in the skin. Now it is believed to be a non-specific skin eczema-like reaction. Systemic allergies to metals such as nickel and chromium and psychological factors may be important causes of this disease.
1. Wash hands with salt water. Salt water has many benefits and can also be used to prevent peeling. Rub a small amount of non-iodized salt directly into your hands and dilute it with a little water. Then immerse your hands in the salt water for a while. Do this twice a day, morning and evening, and you will see results after a week.
2. Avoid contact with irritating products. Avoid contact with soap, laundry detergent, and other chemical products that are irritating. In most cases, the peeling will heal automatically within 2-3 weeks.
3. Wash hands with ginger soup. Slice ginger and place it in boiling water in a cup. Let the ginger soup cool naturally before pouring it into your hands and rubbing it in. Do this 1-2 times a day for 5 days to see results.
4. Rub hands with garlic. Peel one end of a garlic clove and mash it into a paste. Place the garlic paste on your palm and rub your hands together until you feel warmth. Use this method 3-4 times a day, and the peeling will heal within half a month.
5. Rub hands with rice vinegar. After washing your hands, pour a small amount of rice vinegar into your hands and rub it in repeatedly until the skin absorbs the vinegar. Do not wash your hands again after rubbing. Rub your hands 3-4 times a day using this method. Rubbing before bed and wearing gloves while sleeping can be more effective. After a week, the peeling on your hands will disappear.
