Sterilization after 7 years does not necessarily mean a woman cannot conceive. It is possible to achieve pregnancy again through salpingostomy or in vitro fertilization (IVF).
After 7 years of sterilization, if the function of the fallopian tubes is normal, salpingostomy can be performed to clear the tubes, thus enabling the woman to conceive again. However, there is a risk of infection after the surgery, which may lead to re-blockage of the fallopian tubes or even ectopic pregnancy.
IVF is also an option for women who want to conceive after sterilization. If a woman has a desire for re-fertility after fallopian tube ligation, there are two ways to achieve it. The first is to perform salpingostomy, and the second is to opt for IVF.
1. Fallopian tube ligation is a commonly used method of sterilization for women in China, but it is reversible. Salpingostomy can be performed to restore fertility. However, the success rate of the surgery is not 100%, and there is a possibility of fallopian tube obstruction, incomplete patency, or ectopic pregnancy after the surgery.
2. IVF, or in vitro fertilization with embryo transfer, is another option. However, the success rate of this method is approximately 30%-40%. Typically, only around 2 embryos can be transferred at a time. The higher the number of embryos, the higher the risk of multiple pregnancies, which can pose a threat to the health of both mother and baby.
