What Are the Differences Between Upper and Lower Pregnancy Bellies in Terms of Gender?

Pregnancy with the fetus positioned higher in the abdomen may indicate a female baby, while a lower position may suggest a male baby. However, this method of determination is not absolutely accurate. In normal cases, a higher position is due to the fetus being located higher in the womb, which may lead to rib pain, compression of the stomach and lungs, difficulty breathing, or gastric acid reflux in the pregnant woman. This higher position is often attributed to differences in the woman's constitution and the uterus being located higher up.

A lower position indicates that the fetus is closer to the pelvis, which may cause pain in the pubic bone as the fetus grows larger. Additionally, pregnant women with a lower position may experience more frequent urination, especially as their abdomen expands, due to increased pressure on the bladder.

One method used to predict the gender of the fetus is based on the position in the womb. It is believed that a higher position indicates a female baby, while a lower position indicates a male baby. This is explained by the fact that before the fetus enters the pelvic cavity, its head is always facing upward. Since the head of a male fetus is larger and heavier than that of a female fetus, and the uterus grows in a forward and upward direction, the heavier head of a male fetus may cause the pregnant woman's abdomen to sag downward, appearing as a lower position with a pointed abdomen or even a "B" shaped belly. Conversely, the lighter head of a female fetus may result in a less prominent sagging abdomen, appearing as a higher position with a rounder abdomen.

However, it is important to note that these methods are not absolutely accurate. While it is true that male heads tend to be heavier than female heads in most cases, there are also many exceptions where male heads can be smaller and female heads larger. Therefore, if a pregnant woman with a lower position and pointed abdomen delivers a female baby, it simply means that the baby has a relatively larger head. Conversely, if a pregnant woman with a higher position and round abdomen delivers a male baby, it indicates that the baby has a smaller head.
