What causes the growth of fleshy bumps on the foreskin?
For men, it is important to pay attention when there are small fleshy bumps on the foreskin, as many pathological factors may lead to the appearance of small fleshy bumps on the foreskin in clinical practice. Common reasons include sebaceous gland dysplasia and condyloma acuminatum, and may also be caused by syphilis infection. Therefore, timely treatment is necessary.
Sebaceous gland dysplasia can cause small fleshy bumps on the foreskin, which can appear as scattered papilla-like granules on the foreskin. They are small in size, white in color, without any abnormal sensation, local pain, or increased secretions. Their volume, size, and number can persist for a long time without any changes. In this case, no special treatment is required.
The fleshy bumps on the foreskin may also be condyloma acuminatum, which is related to unclean sexual contact. It manifests as papilla-like protruding granules on the foreskin, with an uneven surface, accompanied by local pain and bleeding. The volume, size, and number may increase over time, and they can fuse together, forming cauliflower-like masses with a local abnormal foul odor. Local excision is required, and antiviral treatment is needed after pathological examination confirms the diagnosis. If there are multiple occurrences on the foreskin, it may be necessary to perform a circumcision along with the foreskin.
Fleshy bumps on the foreskin may also be due to syphilis nodules, carcinoma of the glans penis, and other reasons. During sexually active periods, if there is unclean sexual intercourse, it is likely to lead to syphilis infection, manifesting as syphilis nodules on the genitals. If the diagnosis of carcinoma of the glans penis is clear, timely surgical treatment is needed to prevent tumor enlargement and metastasis.
