Why Do Newborns Have Rough Breathing?
Generally, the phenomenon of rough breathing in newborns is normal. This is mainly because the frequency and sound of newborns' breathing are faster and more frequent than that of older children and infants, which is a normal phenomenon. If parents observe that the respiratory rate and sound frequency of newborns are rapid, they do not need to worry too much as long as there are no abnormalities in the body. The blockage of secretions is sometimes caused by the blockage of secretions leading to nasal congestion and blocked breathing sounds, especially when there are secretions in the nasal cavity of newborns and they are unable to remove them. Blockage in the nasal concha area can lead to respiratory problems, and since the nasal cavity of newborns is relatively narrow, blockage can affect normal breathing and cause the breathing sound to become rougher. Parents can use disinfected cotton swabs, seawater or normal saline to help clean the nasal cavity.
